The active ingredient of Oxycodone Molteni is oxycodone hydrochloride, indicated for use in adults for the treatment of moderate to severe pain in cancer patients, postoperative pain, and in the management of severe pain requiring the use of a strong opioid.

Oxycodone is a pure agonist of opioid receptors and has an affinity for kappa, mu, and delta opioid receptors in the brain and spinal cord. Its effect is similar to that of morphine. In medicine, it is primarily used for its analgesic, anxiolytic, antitussive, and sedative properties.

Oxycodone Molteni is available as a solution for injection or infusion, for intravenous or subcutaneous administration, in concentrations of 10 mg/ml (vials of 1 ml, 2 ml, and 20 ml) or 50 mg/ml (1 ml vials).
